After a brief reminder that it is, in fact, still summer, another pleasant week is in store for northeast Missouri and western Illinois.

The past weekend was a warm and sticky one, and storms that had been predicted didn't materialize. But, according to National Weather Service forecasters, a more pleasant weather pattern settles into the area this week.

After a Monday high of 77, afternoon temperatures in the low 80s will be norm. Low temps are expected to hit 56 Monday and 58 Tuesday, and then rise to the low 60s for the remainder of the week.

There are slight chances of showers and thunderstorms Thursday, and again Friday, Friday night and Saturday.
