Animal Abuse and Cruelty Case Being Investigated in Hannibal

Hannibal Animal Control officers are investigating an animal abuse/ cruelty case regarding a deceased cat discovered in the 900 block of Mark Twain Avenue.

A Hannibal police officer discovered the animal while on patrol early Thursday afternoon. Animal Control found that the cat had a large fish hook attached to a cord in its mouth. The cat also appeared to have been shot in the front shoulder.
