Amtrak Offers Extra Trains for Thanksgiving
Amtrak will run extra trains in Illinois on Nov. 30 to help customers get home after feasting at Grandma's house.
Officials from the rail line anticipate more passengers on the Sunday following Thanksgiving so there will be an extra round-trip offered on the Chicago-to-St. Louis and the Chicago-to-Quincy corridors.
There are ordinarily four round-trips between the Windy City and St. Louis passing through Bloomington-Normal. Two trains — one from St. Louis and one from Chicago — will each depart about a half-hour earlier than normal. They will operate on a modified schedule.
En route to Quincy one train will depart Chicago 20 minutes later and run on a modified schedule that Sunday only.
Amtrak encourages passengers to book tickets early for the best availability and pricing.
