Hannibal’s other season gets underway in earnest Tuesday.

That would be boat season, the time of year when a parade of large riverboats with overnight accommodations for extended cruises start to make their way up and down the Mississippi.

The first of the big boats to stop in Hannibal is the American Queen, scheduled to dock in Hannibal at noon Tuesday, with the Queen of the Mississippi set to visit America’s Hometown Sunday at 11 a.m.

A total of 25 visits from five different big boats are scheduled between now and late October.

A complete schedule of boat dockings can be found on the Hannibal Convention and Visitor’s Bureau’s website.
