American Duchess Makes Inaugural Hannibal Stop

Large steamboats making regular stops in Hannibal this time of year has become a common occurrence. But, a new boat made its first stop in America’s Hometown Wednesday.

The American Duchess is a sister ship to the American Queen and the American Empress.

According to Captain Randy Kirschbaum, the inaugural cruise of the Duchess has not been without its issues, but making a stop in Hannibal was a must.

Wednesday morning’s inaugural port ceremony included a proclamation and a presentation of the key to the city.

This is the only trip the American Duchess will make to Hannibal this season.
