A Mexico, Missouri man accused in the shooting death of a Monroe County woman Friday made his first court appearance Tuesday.

51 year old James Addie appeared in Monroe County Circuit Court for arraignment on charges of first degree murder and armed criminal action.

The body of 35 year old Molly Watson of Huntsville was found late Friday night near her vehicle east of Highway 151 and Route M in Monroe County.

Watson was originally thought to have died of blunt force trauma, but prosecutors revealed in court Tuesday that Watson had been shot in the head.

According to Watson’s social media account, she was set to marry Addie Sunday. Addie has been married to his current wife for 22 years.

A preliminary hearing in the case is set for June 12th in the Monroe County Courthouse in Paris.
