A former Pike County man accused of threatening a store clerk has pleaded guilty to weapons charges. 29-year-old Scott Joseph Adams of Jefferson City was originally charged with unlawful use of a weapon, attempted kidnapping and armed criminal action.

On Thursday, he admitted to two of the weapons charges and was sentenced to five years of probation.

Adams was accused of displaying two handguns and threatening a clerk at the Tobacco Plus store in Louisiana on January 20. Police say they identified Adams from the store’s surveillance footage.
