Fifteen different western Illinois non-profit organizations benefit from the latest round of Penny Power Grants handed out by Adams Electric Cooperative.

Coop officials announce that over $8,500 in grants for community betterment projects have been awarded.

The grant amounts range from $153 for pillows, pillow covers and mattress covers for the Quincy Hospitality House to $1,450 for two separate projects in the swine barn and horse arena at the Adams County Fairgrounds.

The Penny Power grants are funded by cooperative members who have their bills rounded up to the nearest dollar each month.
