The Illinois Appellate Court Tuesday denied Adams County State’s Attorney’s request to allow late primary voting this week.

State’s Attorney Jon Bernard had filed a request Monday for the court to vacate its emergency stay from Friday, forbidding Adams County from extending voting from last Tuesday’s primary.

Bernard had asked for extended voting this week after a number of voters were not able to cast ballots due to an insufficient number of ballots being printed.

Bernard announced in an email Tuesday that he will not pursue the case any further, since March 29th is the last day a final certified vote count can be mailed to the state election board.
