An inmate at the Adams County Jail died in custody last week.

According to State’s Attorney Gary Farha, Samuel Hedrick died of natural causes on January 31st.

Hedrick had been arrested the day before on drug charges and was a regular heroin user.

An autopsy was conducted in Bloomington. The report released Friday said that Hedrick had suffered from cardio vascular disease and his death was heart related.

The report also stated that there was no infection and no traumatic injuries connected with Hedrick’s death.
