Adams County Deputies Warn of Phone Scam

Adams County Sheriff’s deputies report several complaints in regards to a company making automated calls to home telephones day and night.

Deputies say the calls have an area code of 786 — that’s a Florida Area Code — and are from a company called KIPA. They prompt the receiver to press 2.

Deputies say the intent of the calls hasn't been determined and they recommends hanging up and not following the prompts because it may lead to large charges on your phone bill.  Most of the complaints are from Adams Telephone customers.
