A Busy Day For Tow Trucks
Vehicle slide offs and fender benders were common Thursday as the first significant storm of this winter rolled through. Missouri Highway Patrol troopers say crosswinds blew a school bus off Missouri 15 a half mile north of Shelbyville at 10:15 Thursday morning. An 11-year-old boy was taken to Samaritan Hospital in Macon for treatment of minor injuries.
A one vehicle crash on Marion County Route Z four miles north of Monroe City at 7:40 Thursday evening results in minor injuries for a Philadelphia woman. The Missouri Highway Patrol says a vehicle driven by 51-year-old Kevin Douglas slid off the road and into a fence post. A passenger, 49-year-old Sheila Lorenson of Philadelphia, was taken to Hannibal Regional Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
Some roads were closed for a while Thursday as a result of poor visibility and numerous slide-offs.
