40 Ton Weight Limit for the Champ Clark Bridge

Missouri Department of Transportation officials say the Champ Clark Bridge at Louisiana is under a weight restriction of 40 tons per vehicle.

MODOT says that during a routine inspection, additional structural deficiencies were discovered, and that while the bridge remains safe to cross within posted limitsm the new restrictions are necessary to eliminate the potential for having heavier commercial vehicles on the bridge at the same time.

Signage and message boards warning of the restriction have been posted and law enforcement will be monitoring to ensure compliance.
