Two women and one man face charges related to prostitution following their arrests by Hannibal Police.
Officers with HPD’s Anti Crime Enforcement Squad made contact with a female in the 4200 block of Market shortly after 1:00 pm Tuesday who had been communicating with undercover officers regarding illegal sexual activity. Police say that a woman—22 year old Shaienne Lewis of Quincy was arrested for prostitution and released pending a formal review by the Ralls County Prosecutor. At 5:11 pm, officers made contact with another female who agreed to meet an undercover officer in the 300 block of Warren Barrett. Police say that woman—27 year old Tiffany Bussell of Hannibal arrived and took money from an officer after agreeing to engage in prostitution. Police reports indicate a male—50 year old Wesley Hobson of Hannibal approached and Bussell and Hobson attempted to flee with the money in their vehicle. Both were confronted by the undercover officer and drove off at a high rate of speed. Their vehicle was stopped near South Main and both were arrested. Hobson is held in the Marion County Jail on charges of promoting prostitution. Bussell was arrested for prostitution and stealing and was released pending a formal review by the Marion County Prosecutor.
