CHICAGO (AP) - Mike Fiers struck out 12 in six innings and Ryan Braun homered as the Milwaukee Brewers beat the Chicago Cubs 6-1 Saturday. The Cubs got a scare in the second when rookie second baseman Addison Russell and first baseman Rizzo collided on Carlos Gomez's bloop single to shallow right field. Both players remained in the game. The Cubs were sloppy, too. Logan Schafer hit a grounder in the ninth and wound up circling the bases when shortstop Starlin Castro made a throwing error, then Rizzo threw to third base, where no one covered the bag.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Trevor Plouffe and Torii Hunter homered, helping Ricky Nolasco return to the rotation with a win as the Minnesota Twins beat the Chicago White Sox 5-3 Saturday. The Twins used five relievers to blank Chicago after Nolasco left.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) - David Price took a shutout into the ninth inning before finishing with a five-hitter as the Detroit Tigers beat the Kansas City Royals 2-1 Saturday night. Price limited the Royals to four singles until Lorenzo Cain homered with two-out in the ninth spoiled his bid for his second career shutout.
